Making a Swedish torch log fire with only a knife. To start the fire I used birch bark and pine resin. It’s perfect to cook on
Testing various charred materials with flint and steel, some natural materials and some man made materials. It’s always good to test things out yourself instead of believing rumors 🙂
Making a simple jig for stacked knife handles, although I agree it could have been even more simple by leaving out the metal strips. But hey, I like it this way 🙂
Cleaning up a WWII Russian entrenchment shovel to be used for my other hobby which is metal detecting.
A friend who gives workshops in fire making asked if I can make some steel strikers for his workshops. In this video I show how I make them
Together with 3 friends, we hiked about 35 km in a nice hilly area. Our train: Bara, Kacka, me, Tomasi, warming up in the train. The village where our train ride ended. Before we reached our destination for that night, we visited a pub to mingle with the (communistic?) locals […]

Three friends came over from The Netherlands for a hike in the beautiful nature of Czech Republic. It was a warm weekend, with temperatures between 26 and 30 celcius, so we planned the route passing a lot of fresh water sources.
From an old garden table and a bbq bottom part, I made a new grilling / bbq table, to expand my possibilities for outside cooking at home.
Making a wooden rocket stove without power tools. It burned in total about 1 hour, of which the first 10 minutes I was feeding it with birch bark and a little bit of fat wood. After those 10 minutes it was burning by itself from the inside out.
My wife wanted a swinging bench, but none of the commercial ones are long enough to be able to fully lay straight on it to sleep as well. So I made one with a steel frame, and wooden inserts thats long enough, and which is also able to be folded […]
In March 2014 I made the knife I still heavily use. The sheath was made from an old leather school bag, and did it’s job quite good, although I did not much work with leather before that. In the design I made a mistake which caused it to fail over […]
Recently I received the Mora Garberg as a gift from some friends. After first tryout, it seemed to have a second bevel, which I was surprised about since they are suppose to have a scandi grind. So, today I removed it and properly sharpened it.
