On this day trip, my colleague & friend Eric and myself went for a day trip into a beautiful nature area north east of Prague.
At the bottom you can see the route we went and the distances etc.
As soon as you enter the area, it rocks stick out quite impressively.
The paths are all marked, but sometimes quite hard to find, due to the snow covering everything. So if you miss the mark on a tree, it is quite easy to of track.
Here is Eric next to a small boulder.
And me at a nice viewing point
Once your on top, the view is very nice.
After a while we passed this castle, which looks like one from a fairy tale.
If I remember correctly, another friend of mine got married there.
Not sure if it is this one or another castle..
Here we are half way the route, and checking the amazing scenery.
We decided to have lunch at about 2/3 of the planned route, so we chose a spot not visible from the path, so no one would bother us while we had lunch.
Eric prepared the bacon while I was spicing up the pork steaks.
And then all you can do is sit and wait, and enjoy the nature with a nice cold beer 🙂
Time to continue, we had still 2 hours of daylight left.
The last part of this route was much more interesting compared to what we had hiked till our lunch. The views where simply great, the path more difficult, and lot’s of ups and downs along the way.
This was a quite slippery way down. The wooden stairs where all covered in ice and snow.
Here is the route we did, plus some additional details from my GPS recorder:
– Distance: 10,225 meters
– Elapsed Time: 5:33:28 (including lunch time)
– Min Altitude: 249 m
– Max Altitude: 419 m
