Together with 2 colleague’s we went for a day walk in the Krokonose mountains here in Czech Republic.
Michal, who is very familiar with this area, and Shahzad, who never was here or walked in any hills / mountains.
Early morning at the beginning of the trip.
On the next hill was already some snow visible and people where skiing and snowboarding there.
After 1.5 hour walk, we came into the snowy part of the mountains.
We stopped at the first ‘bouda’ which is something like a pub / restaurant, and sometimes you cna also rent rooms there. We had a couple of great beers there, before we continued.
Back on the trail, with still plenty of km’s to go.
Due to the fog, we had no visibility at all of the beautiful environment there.
A bunker build just before WWII started.
Here we stand at the origin of the river Labe, which goes through whole CZ, and then off to Germany where they name it the Elbe.
At the next bouda some more beers, and a proper lunch.
At the end, Shahzad was completely done, he was not used to the hills with the many inclines and declines.
We did a total of around 18 km that day, which was not bad at all.
